![]() ![]() All i can think of so far it to replace sockets, replace the 2000pf ceramic disc capacitor that bridges from the control grid (pin5) to cathode (pin8) to ground on the power tube sockets, or highly recommend a twin reverb. And I have already tried swapping tubes with no change. The amp was clearly in a basement or damp for a while, when i went to retention and clean there were spots of heavy oxidation, but no voltage across the paper and wax board. Also cleaned and retention all the tube sockets. Even went trough and retouched every connections on the sockets as well as any connections on the eyelet board that looked oxidized. The amp is mostly original with a few swapped capacitors, three prong cable upgrade but has all of the bass bump, mid depth and surfy Reverb tones loved about the Bandmaster Reverb circuit. The Bandmaster Reverb offers all of the features that you expect from a classic vintage Fender combo amp, with the added bonus of being able to be matched with the speaker of you choosing. Cleaned all the jacks, pots, and switches. BANDMASTER REVERB SUPER REVERB PRO REVERB AMPLIFIERS MANUAL. For sale is a 1972 Fender Bandmaster Reverb 40W Tube Head in good playing condition, some rough tolex and hardware, but in wonderful shape. But, this blog is about the one member of the Bandmaster family that sometimes goes unloved: The silver-faced Bandmaster Reverb. The bias is balanced between the two power tubes. All the voltages via the schematic are spot on or 10-20V higher, so far have not found any resistors out of spec. The distortion just is not very musical, very round and brown/muddy. Seems to have a severe lack of headroom on both channels, breaks up at 4, and when dimed on the vibrato channel there is a trail of crackly fuzz at the and of a sustained power chord. This amp has had a very recent cap job (not done by me) as well as all new tubes. Ok so, I am repairing a silverface bandmaster reverb tfl5005d.
